RARE COLLECTIBLE NEW WITH TAGS HANDPAINTED LINEN KUSNADI OPERA KIMONO 90" WIDE 44" LONG
This is absolutely rare, amazing and stunning. Kusnadi went out of business in 2005 when the Tsnumani hit Indonesia and wiped out their facility. Known for their iconic hand painted batik pieces, this OPERA KIMONO was always the star of their collections. This is the most beautiful piece in this design I've ever owned and it still has the tags attached from the late 1990s with the price of $190 pounds. The last kimono I had that was similar to this one, but not as spectacular sold on eBay for $560. All I can say is this is the most beautiful piece I've ever owned or seen by Kusnadi. The piece is made from a linen rayon blend that feels 100% like linen. It is handpainted in a rich earthy brown with teal and turquoise hand painted designs. It is trimmed in their rare Sumba Ikat textiles at the front band, sleeve ends and the pockets. It is 90" wide and 44" long. This piece can be folded back at the front to make it narrower -- but whatever you do with this amazing piece you will be the focal point of any gathering where you wear this piece.
