My mother made this fully lined Kimono Jacket in the 1980s for her first trip to visit me in San Francisco. She used the remnants from her favorite silks to create this. The green silk is raw silk and the cream is from a vintage Japanese Kimono and is embossed with a Crane. It is fully lined in cream "wedding" taffeta from a dress she made for a friend's daughter's wedding. She wore it exactly once and then put it in storage. This arrived today from my sister who will never wear it. Time for her to have a good home.
